Trout fishing really turned on, and many anglers had quality hold-over fish as a result. In the early morning, trolling needlefish, rapalas and dodger/crawler combos down 4 to 6 colors at the dam was the ticket. When the wind picks up, drifting a worm did well. Both largemouth and smallmouth are still on the chew, top waters early and bottom bouncing techniques produced during the day. Crappie made a good showing as well, with slabs to 2 pounds coming out of Santa Cruz and the narrows. Catfish still in shallow coves and creek channels all over the lake on cut mackerel. Bow fishing for carp was good early and late around the island and the narrows. Bluegill and a couple of red ear were reportedly caught around the back of Arrowhead Island.
