U-14 boys soccer tryouts
The Under-14 River Valley Rovers Boys 98 club soccer team will be holding tryouts for new players on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m., at Sunny Fields in Solvang, and Fridays from 4-6 p.m., at Oak Valley School in Buellton.The tryouts, which are open for all boys under the age of 14 before Aug. 1, will begin Friday, July 27, and continue through Aug. 17.
The team is looking for players for the Fall Central Coast Soccer League, which begins Aug. 25 and ends Nov. 18. All league games will be held in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, the team plans to play in several tournaments throughout the year.
Since the team was formed last year, it has won two tournaments, the 2011 Ventura County Fusion Invitational and the 2011 Aztecas Soccer Tournament. River Valley Rovers B98 also had a successful run in the Cal South Soccer State Cup, Governor’s Division, by reaching the quarterfinals.
