Bass fishing was on a day-to-day basis this past week, but even on the slower days limits are still obtainable on reaction baits as well as bottom-bumping techniques. Shad still being spotted on or near the surface at the East end of the lake, which have been providing top water action early. Catfish have tapered off even a little more than the previous week, but a few of the larger grade kitties did come out of Sweetwater on cut mackerel. There were some decent crappie action on tap, as slabs to 2 pounds were reported in at the marina. Small tubes and mini-jigs tipped with mealworms were the best offerings for the pan fish. Trout fishing just about ground to a halt, with only a few fish coming out of the dam area on drifted crawlers. Bowfishing for carp still good in the early-morning hours and in the mouth of Clarks and the marker buoys on the northwest of the dam.
