My apologies - Last week I told you about a meeting with a Caltrans representative named Paul Rodriguez.

Unfortunately, that is not his name, and I think I identified him incorrectly because of another communication with someone named Rodriguez. His correct name is Paul Martinez and his contact information is: Paul P. Martinez, project manager, phone (805) 549-3407, email- paul_martinez@dot.ca.gov. His supervisor is Tim Gubbins, who may be reached at Tim.Gubbins@dot.ca.gov.

Please contact him with your idea on how to make the 154/246 intersection safer for all of us. If you believe we can’t afford a $3.5 million roundabout when a simple four-way stop will accomplish the same results, eliminating the on-ramp, for $80,000 to $100,000.

I apologize for the error.

Idaho

I have heard that the Valley has been hot while I have been gone. It’s been hot here in Idaho as well. Just last night we finally got some cool weather and needed to pull the sheets up to our chins in the morning. Perhaps fall is beginning.

Going through Oregon, we were astounded with the huge swaths of open upper-desert land that had been burned in recent fires. We travelled on Highway 95 from Winnemucca, Nev., to Nampa, Idaho, and found signs on the side of the road announcing dust storms for the next 30 miles. Sure enough, dust devils swirled everywhere on the barren ground. Many of them crossed the highway, making visibility difficult.

There are mountains all around, on both sides of the road, and I worry that there will be a lot of flooding this winter or next spring when the rains start to fall or snow begins to melt. There are no plants or grass to slow the movement of the water downhill. It is a large grazing area for cattle and I am sure there will be no feed until after next winter. Then it will be determined by how hot the fire was and how much topsoil is retained after the rains. It is so sad to see and reminds me of how important it is to guard against fire anywhere. We have seen some fires in the Valley in recent years caused by lightning, accidents and arson. Aside from being particularly careful using implements during the dry season, one cannot do much to prevent lightning strikes or arson.

We have had an arsonist working on 154 for a number of years who has set fires on or around my ranch at least three times recently. Fortunately, we had quick response from the Fire Departments and damage was only to old brush. We don’t know if the individual has ever been caught, but I would ask you to keep your eyes open if you see anything odd happening on the side of the road and call 911.

As for the horse show, it was a bit of a disappointment, but that is common for shows. All of my horses made the first cut into the second go. In the second round, we had problems with uncooperative cattle, a horse not feeling well and just being unlucky as far as position in the draw, so there were no good working cattle left. Such is the normal workings of the show season: Some are successful, some are not.

We were, however, treated to an outstanding run by Morgan Cromer on Brinkman Ranch’s Cats Full Moon. This was in the Mercuria sponsored class that included some of the very best horses in the cutting world today such as Hottish, Don’t Look Twice, and Kit Kat Sugar. Those three horses showed first and had the crowd screaming with excitement. Then, several horses got stuck in the ground and lost cows.

It was Morgan’s turn and as she quietly walked into the herd, we wondered what we were about to see. It was positively electric! The horse ducked and dove right along with the cows. The crowd yelled encouragement, and clapped and stomped their feet in appreciation. As the buzzer sounded the end of the run, we knew we had seen something special. Everyone turned to look at the scoreboard. After what seemed like an hour, the numbers began to flash – 226. Wow! What a score! The crowd began to boo and hiss because another rider had been given a 228 and Morgan was Reserve Champion when many thought she should have been Champion. Being a customer of Morgan’s, of course, I also felt her run deserved a higher score, but such was not to be. In any event, it was a truly phenomenal run and I was thrilled to have seen it. Afterward, she came to sit with us to have dinner that was being served in the arena. Many people came up to her to congratulate her on her show. I know that if the people here didn’t know who she was before this event, they certainly did now and wouldn’t forget her name. Congratulations, Morgan!

Voter fraud

A new book has been published this past week that you might find educational and interesting. It is titled Who’s Counting, written by John Fund and Hans Von Spakovsky, a former Department of Justice official. In the preface, they state some pretty frightening statistics. They say that according to a February 2012 Pew Center study, 1.8 million deceased persons are on state voter rolls and 2.75 million people are registered in more than one state. In total, they report approximately 24 million (13%) of voter registrations were either extremely inaccurate or otherwise invalid. They also found that the vast majority of these were done by Democrats.

This study tells us at least two things: First, our election system is in very shabby shape and is rife with opportunity for fraud. Second, the fact that most of the fraud is done by Democrats, or perhaps more accurately progressives charading as Democrats, tells you that they could not win elections if they did not cheat or at least they think so.

It also points out another fact that some do not want to believe, and that is that the vast number of those who claim voter fraud does not exist are often those who are supporting it or doing it themselves. This network of fraud has been occurring for a number of years on the local level and has reached, in some states, to the top level of government. Thus, all the commentators’ discussions about red and blue states could well be totally misleading. Assumptions about which way the polls are pointing, in my opinion, are also misleading because of their biases and because of the underlying fraud occurring.

I have been talking for several years now about the voter fraud in this county. Oh yes, the progressives (a misnomer if there ever was one!) will laugh once again and say, “Here she goes again!” but you would never hear about what was in your backyard if I didn’t write about it. The media universally lies to you or simply just leaves out relevant information. Whether print, TV, radio or Internet, the vast majority do not tell you the truth. Why? I think there are a number of reasons running from wanting to slant the news to their point of view to wanting you to be ignorant so that you cannot do anything about things you wouldn’t like.

A meeting occurred last week that has set a wider track for the journey to free and fair elections in Santa Barbara County. We are still in court and depending on what happens there, we will either be back in another court exposing all of the new evidence we have, or we will be pursuing the new criminal charges we have evidence for. I am excited to finally be at the juncture where I can expose all the information I have access to. It will be fun to finally give you the names and their participation in the theft of the elections for many years. It will also be fun to expose the fraud and bought-and-paid-for officials we are paying salaries to represent us and keep us safe. You would be surprised to know who they are and how cheap they are to buy their decisions!

You should not be discouraged but be encouraged by the polls of the American people who overwhelmingly want voter ID required in order to vote. To vote in Mexico, as a citizen only, you must provide a photo ID, a signature and a fingerprint that will be scanned in order to vote along with presenting the voter card that has a hologram covering the picture, a magnetic strip and a serial number. Why would we have anything so much less? I don’t think I would want to have a number attached to me other than my Social Security number, but surely we need to crack down on the thieves who routinely steal elections and then serve themselves.

I know there is general concern about our continuous loss of rights in this country. I believe that it is these same people who steal our elections who intend to curb your rights and will try to strangle you into submission, while taking whatever you have under the guise of helping. Please don’t be fooled. We have many in our midst who would destroy our way of life under the misapprehension that this is the only way for them to succeed.

We have a major election in front of us here. I am hoping that it turns out right without major benefit of fraud. I am so sick of the lies about how small businesses have benefitted from tax cuts – what tax cuts? I have several small businesses and I have not seen one dime of a tax cut in fact, because the State of California did not pay back the unemployment money it borrowed from the feds; I, as an employer have to pay it. Thus, my taxes went up and that is just one example.

I hope people are paying attention, because a lot of people will be out of a job come January if the current route is followed. The health care rules will bankrupt most employers, so that’s going to be a problem as well. I am so sick of the lies the politicians tell. Are you listening?
