Largemouth bass providing the most action, as fish were caught from the dam to the narrows on both reactions and finesse techniques. Cloud cover in the a.m. has provided some top water fish on spooks, poppers and buzzbaits. Deep driving cranks, jigs and creature baits all working later in the day. Catfish have been in 1 to 20 feet of water in Dead Horse Canyon, Sweetwater and the narrows on shrimp and cut mackerel. The crappie bite improved. Santa Cruz Bay was the hot location for slabs to 2 pounds. Mini-jigs and grubs took most of the fish. Trout fishing still on the slow side, though a couple of limits were taken from shore soaking either either nightcrawlers or powerbait in Harvey’s. Bowfishing was good in the backs of coves and main lake shorelines.
