Shirley Pearl Linton, aged 82, died peacefully on Oct. 5, 2012, at Country Oaks Care Center in Santa Maria. Shirley was born March 11, 1930, in Spokane, Wash., the daughter of John A. McLean and Pearl M. Chance.
Shirley was in the Air Force working at the Pentagon, when she met and married the love of her life Sly Linton, who was also in the Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. They were married for 59 years.
During those years, they raised their three sons, Allen, Jeff and David, and enjoyed traveling and living in many parts of the world.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Sly Linton; sons Allen and Jeff of Solvang, Calif.; son David of Lady Lake, Fla.; and grandsons Chris and Cody of Solvang.
There will be a service for friends and family at Loper Funeral Chapel in Ballard on Friday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m., with interment following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard. A reception following at the home of Jeff and Linda Linton in Solvang. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Valley Christian Fellowship, 891 North Refugio Road, Santa Ynez, CA 93460.
