Computers for Families to receive
$100,000 from Bacara
Computers
for Families (CFF), a local non-profit program that provides computers to
students from impoverished families in Santa Barbara County, received a
$100,000 donation from Bacara Resort & Spa and
the Dworman Foundation. With this donation, CFF’s Sustainability
Campaign has raised $3.66 million of the $4 million needed to sustain in
perpetuity the program, whose mission it is to bridge “the digital divide.”
To commemorate the donation, a check presentation and
cupcake celebration will be held for one lucky fourth-grade class at Ellwood
School in Goleta at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7. Ellwood is one of 30 schools
participating in the Computers for Families program.
