Solvang Bakery on ‘Regis and Kelly’
Solvang
Bakery was once again in the news Feb. 29, as Regis Philbin
and Kelly Ripa bit into personalized shortbread cookies
from the bakery that were shaped like plaques from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“It
was an exciting day,” said Mellissa Redell at Solvang
Bakery. “It was nice to meet Kelly Ripa, whom we’ve
been so personally involved with in her gift giving.”
The
Solvang Bakery first made news last year around Christmas time, with its famed
ginger bread houses, which Ripa gave as Christmas
gifts. Ripa also ordered Valentine’s cookie boxes
from the bakery.
Susan
Halme, co-owner of Solvang Bakery, Mellissa and Brook
Redell and Jeanine Redell
got the VIP treatment, including a backstage tour and a chance to rub shoulders
with some stars like Raven-symone Pearman.
The
bakery has been invited to return to the Regis and Kelly Live show in New York,
a trip bakery staff will be taking in April.
Mellissa said she is proud of all of the attention and calls Solvang
Bakery “simply the best.”
