The Lusso Collection

The Lusso Collection

In the past 10 years or so, the destination club has been developed to fill a need in high-end travel. Now one can have a variety of second home experiences with concierge service to assist in day to day needs. The Lusso Collection is one of the top destination clubs featuring luxurious homes in the finest vacation spots across the continental U.S., Hawaii and the Caribbean.

The Mountains

Lusso has eighteen current destinations, and more are planned. As Ski season winds, down lets look at what Lusso has in this area. They have homes in Jackson Hole, Deer Valley, Aspen, Copper Mountain, Lake Tahoe and one in development in Vail. So instead of going to the same place every year for your ski vacation, you could move around to all the top spots in the U.S. If that is not enough, they also have one in development in Whistler, British Columbia.

At Lake Tahoe, Lusso has two homes. One is located in the Great Bear Lodge at Northstar. The unit is 3,500 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. This unit includes fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, a home theatre with LCD TV and playstation, the finest in bedding as well as anything else you could imagine. Most of Lusso’s homes come with a Lincoln Navigator at your disposal, and at Great Bear Lodge there is underground parking. The other home is in the Iron Horse development at Northstar. It has all the same amenities, but it’s a bit smaller at 2,120 square feet. Northstar has two championship golf courses for use during the summer, including Old Greenwood, a signature Jack Nicklaus layout. Old Greenwood has been highly rated by Golf Digest as “one of the top upscale public courses” in the U.S. The Northstar Course has been remodeled and upgraded in recent years. Very close by is Lohantan, a private club designed by Tom Weiskopf. Lohantan is a spectacular layout and although fairly new is already ranked in the top 100 courses by Golfweek.

The Sea

Well, now that you have visited the mountains, lets look at the sea. In Hawaii, Lusso’s home is located on the Kohala Coast and is part of the Mauna Lani Resort. This Kahila Village home is 2,900 square feet and located right on the Mauna Lani Golf Course. Lusso members have full privileges at the resort as well as the golf courses. Again, nothing but the best will be found inside this luxurious unit, including a covered lanai with kitchen and grill.

The Kohala Coast probably has the best golf in all of Hawaii. The famed Mauna Kea Golf Club, as well as the widely acclaimed Hapuna Beach Golf Club, is just up the coast. To the south lies Hualalai, home to the Four Seasons Resort and the Mastercard Championship on the Champions Tour. If you have connections, try to get on Kukio or Naneo. Kukio is a very exclusive private club designed by Tom Fazio. Nanea Golf Club is even more exclusive, and you will need an invitation from Charles Schwab. This is his own course where he entertains clients.

The Desert

Lusso has two homes in the Troon North area of Scottsdale. We stayed at the Cimarron home, which has commanding views of the North Scottdale area. The Lusso concierge checked us in and gave us a detailed tour covering usage of all things in the home. She was on call whenever needed throughout our stay. It is a very luxurious home, with 3,500 square feet of living space. The master suite is very large, with marble floors throughout the bathroom and spa area. There is even a sauna. Great views are enjoyed from the gourmet kitchen and home theatre leading out to the pool and spa area. The huge, rocky Sonora Mountains frame the daytime views, while twinkling lights in the distance illuminate the nighttime scene. Everything a family could need was stocked in this unit, including a Lincoln Navigator in the large garage. There also were two sets of Callaway Golf Clubs, just in case the guest’s were forgotten. We made good use of the home’s four mountain bikes to explore this gated community.  The other Scottsdale home is nearby at the Troon North Golf Club. Located on the 15th green of the Pinnacle Course, it is even larger, with over 5,000 square feet. There is an abundance of great golf in the area, including both courses at Troon North. While in this area I would not want to miss Golf Club of Scottsdale, which is just a couple of miles from the Cimarron Lusso home. This new private club is destined to be ranked among the top in Arizona.

The Lusso Collection is top of the line in the destination club field. I have also found their corporate office to be extremely client-friendly. For all the detailed information visit their website at www.lussocollection.com or call (866) 465-8776.
