suspect(s) stole $17, a Motorola RAZR cellular telephone and a day planner from
his unlocked vehicle. The victim provided the police with the serial numbers
for his dollar bills, which he said he had because he played a video game that
tracks dollar bills. The case was suspended pending leads.

A 25-year-old male from Solvang was arrested for being drunk in
public after police observed him staggering. When the officer tried making
contact with the suspect, he ran and attempted to hide under a parked vehicle.
He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

A 25-year-old male from Carpinteria was arrested for driving while
under the influence of alcohol after an officer saw the man drive over a
double-yellow line. After the officer pulled the man over, he noticed an odor
of alcohol coming from the man’s vehicle.

A 54-year-old female from Solvang was arrested for child
endangerment after an officer observed her kids walking around her van while
she was driving. After the officer pulled her car over, he noticed an odor of
alcohol about her person.
The woman admitted to drinking one glass of wine with lunch, but
she failed a series of sobriety tests. She was booked into the Lompoc City Jail
and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Disposition of the children was not
reported.

A 49-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for being under
the influence of a controlled substance after an officer conducted a routine
traffic stop because the man’s vehicle had a broken taillight. When the officer
ran the suspect’s license, the officer discovered that it was suspended. The
officer noticed that the man’s pupils were dilated and that his speech was
slurred. The man first denied drinking or taking any drugs, but later admitted
to taking two doses of a prescription painkiller, Vicodin. The man’s vehicle
was impounded for 30 days.

A 53-year-old female from Santa Ynez reported that two unknown
female suspects broke into her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse, which
included $30 in cash, a $100 Pier 1 Imports gift card and other items. The
estimated loss was $900. While the victim was returning to her car, she noticed
a Hispanic female running away from the car with something under her arm. The
two suspects fled in a red vehicle. The case was suspended pending leads.

The caller said
