Police received a report that two GM car keys, a Golden State Advantage access card and a dented California License Plate were found.

 

Petty Theft

3200 block of Glengary Street, Santa Ynez

A 46-year-old male from Santa Ynez reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole $17, a Motorola RAZR cellular telephone and a day planner from his unlocked vehicle. The victim provided the police with the serial numbers for his dollar bills, which he said he had because he played a video game that tracks dollar bills. The case was suspended pending leads.

Alisal Road and Maple Avenue, Solvang

A 25-year-old male from Solvang was arrested for being drunk in public after police observed him staggering. When the officer tried making contact with the suspect, he ran and attempted to hide under a parked vehicle. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Highway 246 and Meadowvale Street, Santa Ynez

A 25-year-old male from Carpinteria was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol after an officer saw the man drive over a double-yellow line. After the officer pulled the man over, he noticed an odor of alcohol coming from the man’s vehicle.

 

Child Endangerment

Fourth Place and Elm Avenue, Solvang

A 54-year-old female from Solvang was arrested for child endangerment after an officer observed her kids walking around her van while she was driving. After the officer pulled her car over, he noticed an odor of alcohol about her person.

The woman admitted to drinking one glass of wine with lunch, but she failed a series of sobriety tests. She was booked into the Lompoc City Jail and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Disposition of the children was not reported.

Arrest

Alamo Pintado Road, Los Olivos

A 49-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance after an officer conducted a routine traffic stop because the man’s vehicle had a broken taillight. When the officer ran the suspect’s license, the officer discovered that it was suspended. The officer noticed that the man’s pupils were dilated and that his speech was slurred. The man first denied drinking or taking any drugs, but later admitted to taking two doses of a prescription painkiller, Vicodin. The man’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Grand Theft

3564 Sagunto Road, Santa Ynez (Santa Ynez Post Office)

A 53-year-old female from Santa Ynez reported that two unknown female suspects broke into her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse, which included $30 in cash, a $100 Pier 1 Imports gift card and other items. The estimated loss was $900. While the victim was returning to her car, she noticed a Hispanic female running away from the car with something under her arm. The two suspects fled in a red vehicle. The case was suspended pending leads.

A 34-year-old female from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke the passenger side rear window and stole various miscellaneous cards from her purse, but left her credit cards untouched. The case was suspended pending leads.

7400 block of Happy Canyon Road, Santa Ynez

A 64-year-old male reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke into his house, but was interrupted and fled the scene. The case was suspended pending leads.

 

Citation

Maple Street and Amber Way, Solvang

A 25-year-old male from Bassfield, Mo. was cited for soliciting the sale of cleaning products without a permit. The product in the bottle was dumped by the officer.

Police received a report from a concerned citizen who flagged down an officer and reported that two dogs were left in an locked truck without food, water or ventilation.

1600 block of Copenhagen Drive, Solvang

A 60-year-old male from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) vandalized a wall behind a business with gold paint. The words “Sick” and “Blaze” were written on the wall. The case was suspended pending leads.

 

Suspicious phone call

3500 block of Cedar Street, Santa Ynez

A 93-year-old female from Santa Ynez reported that she received a phone call from a stranger who requested her bank account number.

The caller said that $306 would be refunded to the woman’s account. The woman who reported the incident refused to give her information out over the telephone. She also said she has received several similar phone calls.
