BOOM festival-goers will dine and dance under Saturday’s moon

Young talent is the focus at the first Boom! Festival slated for June 14 at the MJ Ranch in Los Olivos.

The event supports the Family Partnership Charter School and will open with the group Sweet and Sour, made up of three nine-year-olds: Stephanie Davidson, Gina Galvin and Kaley Thatcher. Other opening acts are Antonio Barret and Alec Hanna. Featured artists are Dylan Schmidt and Jordyn Shellhart, a Nashville artist who recently has signed with Brad  Paisley’s Publishing Company, Sea Gayle Music.

Musicians Kacey and Kate Coppola, from the television show “Can you Duet,” and  singer-songwriter Ryan Laird, from Canada, are also to perform.

Jason Campbell and the Drive will whip up some dance music as the night comes to a close, from 9 to 10 p.m.

Children from valley schools also will perform, and a few surprise artists are rumored to appear.

The concert program includes an elegant live auction that includes Tahitian pearl jewelry, art, and gift packages including exciting opportunities like driving your own race car, flying a helicopter over Los Angeles, or kayaking in La Jolla. Tri-tip sandwiches will be available for purchase along with wine.  The VIP barn includes a dinner (paella from Chef Touch) appetizers and dessert from Delyse, wine tasting organized by Krska Farming and a preview of the live auction.

For children, there will be an obstacle bouncer and a jumper, and fun booths set up with face painting, games and other activities to delight and entertain. Tickets are available in Buellton at On Site Computer; in Solvang at the Bull Dog Café, Pearl of Provence and Le Studio Ceramics; in Santa Ynez at Forever Posh and Star Drugs, and in Los Olivos at Arts Outreach, Spa Divine and Tin Roof.

Adult general admission is $20, children are $5 and tickets for the VIP dinner is $100 each. Tickets also are available by calling (805) 688-8440.
