‘Romance’ in valley air
“The Voices of Romance” will resound June 18
at Oak Savanna Vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley in a dinner concert benefitting
People Helping People.
Guests have been invited to arrive at the
benefit starting at 7 p.m.
The Art Deco style of Russian-born French
designer Romain de Tirtoff, who called himself Erté, is the theme for
invitations and table settings, according to Lee Rosenberg, a Valley resident
and spokesman for the event.
“There will be a champagne bar, and each guest
couple will receive a long-stem rose as they are escorted to their table,” he
said.
Sponsors for the fundraiser are the Vineyard
Valley Theatre Company and Opera Santa Barbara.
Guest artists who will sing are: Micaela
Oeste, soprano; Jordan Bluth, tenor; Jamie Chamberlin, soprano; Danielle
Marcelle Bond, mezzo soprano, and David Potter, piano accompanist.
Among popular romantic music selections to be
performed are “Sous le Dôme Épais” from “Lakmé” by Léo Delibes; “And This Is My
Beloved” from “Kismet” by Robert Wright and George Forrest; “Je Veux Vivre Dans
Ce Rêve” from “Romeo and Juliet” by Charles Gounod; “Una Furtiva Lagrima” from “L’Elisir
D’Amore” by Gaetano Donizetti and “Time to Say Goodbye” by Franscesco Sartori.
