Buellton chamber mixer

It was a beautiful afternoon August 20 in the gardens of the Buellton Senior Center Thrift Store, where the Buellton Chamber of Commerce enjoyed its monthly mixer.

Business members, community members, friends, and neighbors mixed and mingled throughout the gardens, said Kathy Vreeland, director of member services for the group.

Colleen Klein, Executive Director for the Buellton Senior Center, and her crew put on a spread that all seemed to enjoy.

The Buellton Chamber of Commerce President Theresa Strong presented a check to Kyle Abello, Buelltonís recreation coordinator, for $332, the proceeds from the Buellton Barbecue Bonanza Raffle, organized by the Buellton Chamber.

Abello said that the funds will help provide scholarships for children for various programs put on by the recreation department.

A raffle was held for a number of prizes donated by local businesses. Winners enjoyed beautifully displayed wine and cheese baskets, gift certificates, golf packages, dinners, services, and even a homemade peach pie.

The Buellton Chamber of Commerce holds its mixers once a month from 5 to 7 p.m. They are free and open to the public.

Their next mixer will be held on Sept. 17 at the Andersenís Best Western Hotel in the courtyard, from 5 to 7 p.m.. Candidates for Buelltonís city council will be invited to meet members and guests at that time. To contact the Buellton Chamber of Commerce, call (805) 688-7829 or visit http://www.Buellton.org.
