Artiste wins medals
At the Los Angeles
International Wine and Spirits Competition, Artiste earned three medals,
including Best of Class/Gold Medal for its Le Bec
Sucre; a Gold Medal for Elevage;
and a Silver Medal for Café Noir. Artist is located in Santa Ynez.

was the recipient of a $25,000 check from Citi
Foundation to support WEV’s Small Business Loan Fund.
The fund provides start-up and expansion loans to pre-bankable
micro-enterprises.

Liquid energy
Delta Liquid Energy’s new
Santa Maria rail facility is now fully operational. Six years in the making,
the facility includes more than 300 feet of private railroad track, 90,000
gallons of propane storage capacity, an extensive safety system and a new
office building.
The company’s leaders say
the new rail facility provides security in propane supply. In the event of a
shortage, Delta has the ability to import propane “quickly, safely and
economically” from supply locations in Texas and Canada,” the company said in a
press release. This is DLE’s second rail facility;
