Arrest

East Highway 246, Santa Ynez

A 38-year-old homeless male was arrested for being drunk in public after police received a report that the man was staggering on the side of the highway. The man said he was walking to Buellton. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Citation

1300 block of Alisal Road, Solvang

A 20-year-old male from Santa Ynez was cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana after an officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle. The officer found some prescription pill bottles containing marijuana, a brown pipe and an apple that had been hollowed out and used to smoke marijuana.

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 19-year-old male from San Luis Obispo was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance after police received a report that the man was acting strangely. The man initially only admitted to taking antibiotics for strep throat, but later admitted to snorting cocaine. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail. 

 

Vandalism

Old Mission Drive, Solvang (Verizon)

Police received a report that an unknown suspect(s) vandalized Verizon’s masonry wall, which runs along the west side of the building. The suspect(s) wrote “blaze” on the wall.  The case was suspended pending leads.

400 block of Alisal Road, Solvang

A 35-year-old male from San Diego was arrested for being drunk in public after police received a report that the man was on foot, weaving in and out of traffic.

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 57-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for being drunk in public after police received a report from casino security. When an officer arrived he observed that the man had an unsteady gait and that his eyes were bloodshot. He was booked into the Lompoc  Police Department’s jail facility.

 

Citizen’s Arrest

1687 Copenhagen Drive, Solvang (Copenhagen Tees and Gifts)

A 71-year-old female from San Jose was place under citizen’s arrest by a 42-year-old male who claimed that the woman stole a $4 magnet from the store. The woman was cited for petty theft.

 

Warrant Arrest

2600 block of Santa Barbara Ave.,

Los Olivos

A 46-year-old female from Los Olivos was arrested on an outstanding warrant. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

A 39-year-old male from Santa Maria was arrested for being drunk in public after police received a report from casino security that the man was slumped over on a curb at the casino. He was booked into the Santa Maria Jail.

Mission Drive at Pine Street, Solvang

A 39-year-old male from Lompoc was arrested for violating his probation and driving under the influence of alcohol after an officer stopped him because his vehicle had a broken tail light. The man’s registration also was expired. The officer found an open can of Bud Light in the man’s vehicle. The man repeatedly denied being on probation. However, a California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System check revealed that he was. He was booked into the Lompoc City Jail, and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Stolen golf club

4600 Highway 154, Santa Barbara (Rancho San Marcos Golf Course)

A golf coarse representative reported that a man stole a golf putter from the Pro-shop at the golf coarse. The case was recommended for a detective follow-up.

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 59-year-old female from Carpinteria was arrested for being drunk in public after police received a report that the woman was disturbing casino patrons. When casino security asked the woman to leave, she refused. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

3500 block of East Highway 246,

Santa Ynez

A 52-year-old female reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole her credit card from the dashboard in her car and made $3,000 worth of purchases with it. The case was forwarded to the LAPD for a follow up.

Vandalism

150 Alisal Road, Solvang

(City Works pump building)

A City Works representative reported that an unknown suspect(s) vandalized the building walls with spray paint. The case was suspended pending leads.

Mission Drive and Fifth Street, Solvang

A 44-year-old male from Lompoc was cited for driving without a valid California Driver’s License or valid car insurance. Because there was a passenger in the car who had a disability, the vehicle was not towed.

Southbound Highway 101 at Santa Rosa on-ramp

A 26-year-old male from Santa Maria was cited for driving without a valid California Driver License after an officer stopped him because his vehicle was missing a front license plate. The officer also discovered that the man’s vehicle registration was expired. His car was impounded for 30 days.

Edison Street and Baseline, Santa Ynez

A 35-year-old female was cited for being in possession of less than one once of marijuana after an officer conducted a search of her vehicle and found marijuana and a pipe.

 

Arrest

400 block of First St., Solvang

A 49-year-old female from Palmdale was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs after police received a report that the woman was driving recklessly near Mission Street in Solvang. The woman reportedly was driving on the wrong side of the road. When asked if she were aware of it, the woman said she was “trying to keep the center of the hood aligned with the line on the road.” The officer found prescription pills in the woman’s car. The woman admitted to taking some of the drugs, but claimed she was only taking them on a temporary basis. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail and her car was towed from the scene.
